Traditions
A lot of wonderful
traditions have been established during the lifetime of
Donetsk Institute of Tourist Business.
Academic year for the first-year students starts with
Festive Students Initiation Ceremony. This year it was held the 2nd
of September in Artema Donetsk theatre of Drama. For the students
and parents the concert by senior students was arranged. 300
first-year students have come to us, they are the best pupils
because the competition was 2,5 persons for one place and entry
standard mark was 29. Each entrant felt himself/herself a student of
DITB, have received and important information and coordination for
the future study, as well as new acquaintances, good wishes from the
President of DITB, Rector, Deputy Rector, Dean and teaching staff.
This like was the first day in DITB. Background music by Ensemble
Viola has touched all the spectators by the beauty and
art.

World day of tourism – 27th of September – Donetsk
Institute of Tourist Business celebrates in Svyatogorsk according to
the tradition. This unforgettable meeting is remembered by the
students, teaching staff and the employees of the institute for a
long time. Having visited just once this Holy land one will be
willing to return here again and again. In the program there were
opening ceremony of Day of Tourism, sport competitions, festive
concert and fire, Club of the cheerful and sharp-witted, discotheque
as well as an excursion to Svyatogorsk monastery. All this gives an
opportunity to become a tourist and a friendly collective.

Competitive and entertainment
program the Miss and Mister DITB is traditionally hold for the
first-year students. This spectacular is then remembered for the
whole life: to feel oneself a beautiful Miss of a gallant Mister,
show the talent, show oneself up from the rest, receive a diploma,
prizes, to leave a wonderful remembrance – photos and videos for the
whole life!

The great deal of attention in the
institute is paid to the educational work which helps the students
to become charismatic, uncorseted and eloquent. As part of this work
the next activities that have already become traditional for our
institute are held:
- excursions on Donetsk, to the museum
of regional studies, N.K. Krupskaya library;
- visits to the
Drama Theatre, Concert Hall, Theatre of Opera and Ballet, creative
meetings with actors of the Drama Theatre;
- circular tours
of Ukraine for ethnographical and historical study of peculiarities
of nations of our country;
- meetings of the students with
law enforcement authorities;
- lectures on
job placement and meetings with employers.
Among traditional entertainment events there
are:
- monthly celebration of Birthdays;
- holding
of “New Year party” in one of the prestigious Night Clubs of Donetsk
with the program including festive concert, competitions and faery
show;
- February 14– Saint Valentine’s Day – the love-mail
is working, “My beautiful Lady” program is held, student change into
costumes of angels. Days like this can never be
forgotten!
- festive events dedicated to February 23 and of
March 8;
- April 1 – Fool’s Day – competition of newspapers
is held.
A wonderful tradition is an annual Open day. Guests of
the institute and entrants have an opportunity to receive the
information at first hand: opening speech by the President of the Institute,
Rector, teaching staff; to see the festive performance by talented students, dances
of the peoples of the world, to hear the songs in foreign
languages. The 31st of March DITB was visited by more than 400 people.
This is the indicator of high interest and willing to study in our
institute.
Every
year at the end of May the Institute invites its graduates to the
traditional Party of the old students. The 30th of May 2008 DITB was
visited by graduates of the past 11 years. They have already become
directors of tour enterprises, lead managers, Administrators,
Translators. Many of them have come from neighboring and far-abroad
countries. Questionnaire survey showed that up to date 100% of the
graduated students are employed. The festive concert was prepared by
the students for their senior mates. At the festive buffet graduates
could again feel oneself members of our friendly family of DITB,
share the experience of the past years and to congratulate each
other with their successes and achievements.

Graduation ceremony concludes the
studying year. Graduation Ceremony of 2007 was held the 6th of July
in S.S. Prokofiev Donetsk Regional Concert Hall. There were good
wishes from the President, Rector, Dean and teaching staff. It’s
already 11th graduation.
