was established together with inauguration of the institute in
1992.
Head of the library is Tamara I. Rygalovskaya.

The
main function of the library is information support of
study and scientific processes of the institute. The main
directions of work are: formation of library stock taking
into account the profile of specialists training on the institute
and the direction of scientific researches; cataloging of
documents; information and searching services; library
services; formation of material
and technical base. 
The Library team
The library team works hand-in-hand with the Office of the Dean,
Chairs and Departments of the institute, holding co-operative
information activities.
Library stock of DITB has more than 39
thousand exemplars; their content is universal, but along with this
about 80% of the documents correspond to the profile of specialists
training. Library receives more than 80 items of periodicals in
Ukrainian, Russian, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian,
Arabic, Hebrew and other languages.
Library of the institute is a
participant of the Program of World Tourist Organization
publications distribution and receives all the official publications
in the language of original; it is also a depository of the rich
collection of WTO publications and provides free-of-charge access
for the students and teachers to the know-how of the leading world
organization in the field of tourism.
Much attention is
paid to the formation of the library stock in the industry of
tourist business. The institute is especially proud of tenth part of
the books which are publications made with creativity by the
teaching staff of the institute. Methodic works, summaries of
lectures, study guides make an important basic addition to the
general disciplines and those on specialization.
Annual addition is more than
3 thousand exemplars on all the disciplines.
Information resources of the library are as
follows:
Electronic catalogue is the main database of the library
which includes the description of all the fundamental types of
documents. The source of addition is input of new accessions and
retrospective conversion circulation division fund and fund of
reading room.
Teacher’s works – analytical descriptions of books,
brochures, textbooks methodic, reports on Research
works.
Thematic data base – analytical descriptions of
articles.
Bibliographic lists of literature.
Electronic
library of study guides.
Structure of library is in accordance with its directions of
activity:
- Director of the library performs the general
management.
- Acquisition and document handling
group.
- Searching sector.
Departments of
service:
- 1) universal delivery desk;
- 2) reading
rooms: general, a room of periodicals, of literature in foreign
languages.
- A special importance for employees and students
of the library has a building of positive image of the
library.
- The best marketing strategy of the library is
professionally trained and favorably disposed staff which is sure
that its work and professionalism are necessary for the library
users.
All the conditions for immediate obtaining of an actual
information of high quality were provided for the students, teachers
and employees.

Library is open daily, on weekdays from 8-00 till 17-00
and on Saturday and Sunday from 8-00 till 15-00
Sanitary day is
the last Tuesday of each month.
